Artistic Method. His pictorial method expresses his own spiritual quest. Through an artistic vision and interpretation of Buddhism which aims to eliminate the roots of ignorance of our suffering, his paintings represent groups of imaginary characters. Each proposition is plastically treated through an interplay of contrasts, colours, substances and transparencies. The inspiration comes, willy-nilly, from rupestrian art, ancient Chinese and Greek myths, the sumerian vases, the medieval imagery, thus flirting with the New Figurative Art, the Cobra movement and contemporary Colourists.

For "Roots" Exhibit organized by Naute, Francis Willm and 34 artists were asked to explore the idea of collective memory and of human roots.

What emerged from this challenge is an eclectic collection of paintings, sculptures, photographs, installations, performances, videos/films, stamped with each artist's heritage and personality.

On November 3rd, 2006 , a live performance by French artist Francis Willm reflected on consumer society via an unusual fashion show.

A non-profit organization, Naute was founded by artists for artists in 2005, as a means for artists to engage with others, participate in discussions on art, and show their work. With a base in Crete and another in Strasbourg, Naute strives to encourage this exchange of ideas between artists of all disciplines and countries.
