ARTISTIC PARTICIPATIONS

all of the following 1 to 6 bullet points must be send in order to be considered for the competition

• 1. pictures with legends Visual documents and information must correspond to the original artwork - Pictures must be send as images jpeg or PDF 15 x15 cm, 300 dpi. and sended as electronic version (on CDR) along with a colour print version. Legends are the title, the technique, the size and are in Greek or French and in english)
• 2. artwork's text for publication Please give an artistic statement about each submitted work in 60 to no more than 120 words. This text must be in Greek or in French and in english
• 3. artistic note (for groups) and biographical note (for individuals) about 70 words in Greek or in French and in english
• 4. Curriculum VitaeCV inform about artistic activities, adress contact, nationality
• 5. Non refundable fee of 25 € competition entries per work & for NAUTE's members : 10€ until 2 works)
• 6. Self addressed, stamped envelope for notification

Photography Competition

"Elsewhere", with photographers as our guides, we will be transported far from home, from our everyday lives and from the constraints of work, as we experience their voyages through their eyes. Poetry emerges where least expected, in a cheap hotel room, in an empty landscape, or in an airport...

"Ailleurs" Les  photographes seront nos guides vers hors de notre quotidien et de nos contraintes professionnelles. Ils nous ferons partager les expériences de leurs voyages ou leurs visions artistiques  et nous feront découvrir la poésie qui se dévoile là ou ne l’attend peut être pas : une chambre d’hôtel bas de gamme, un paysage désertique, un hall d’aéroport...

Στην έκθεση "Κάπου Αλλού" με τους φωτογράφους σαν οδηγούς μας, θα μεταφερθούμε μακριά από το σπίτι, από τις καθημερινές ζωές μας και από τους περιορισμούς της εργασίας μας ζώντας το ταξίδι μέσα από τα ματια τους. Η ποίηση μπορεί να προκύψει όπου δεν το περιμένουμε, σε ένα φτηνό δωμάτιο ξενοδοχείου, σε ένα άδειο τοπίο, σε ένα αεροδρόμιο...

Exhibitions are intended in France, (Strasbourg or Colmar) and in Crete, Heraklion/ Aghios Nikolaos.

Outcome of the exhibition is an Art book, catalogue from 96 to 144 pages.

The project involves Greek and French writers .

The competition is open to all photographic, film/video, and lens based installation work.

ARTISTIC PARTICIPATIONS

Selected artists will have their work featured in an exhibition tour organized by NAUTE and its partners during 2011/12.

• Entry fee; submit up to 5 images for €20, $ 2 for each additional image and for NAUTE’s members : €20 and 0 for additional.
• July 31, 2010: submission deadline
• August 31, 2010: notification of accepted work - Artists will be notified of selected works via email
• 2011/2010 and exhibition dates in France and in Crete

Submission Format:
Up to 5 photographic images in jpeg format on CD: 300 dpi. Up to 5 moving image files in quicktime format on DVD, maximum 5 minutes in length. Name each image file with your name. Include the project proposal, an artist's statemen in French or english a CD of your entry and a check payable to NAUTE for your entry fee. Send your entries (simple mail only) to NAUTE, 1 rue Wesserling, 67100 STRASBOURG France.

Exhibition Format:
All photographic works should be ready to hang on the wall for the exhibition, for example: Framed pieces that are equipped with D-rings and wire, or mounted on sturdy substrate material equipped with a hanging system. All film/video work should be either presented on a monitor or a video projector and provided by the artist. Any special installations should be accompanied by the necessary equipment.
